Telecom / Private cloud

One device pool for every release team.

Coordinate device coverage and app versions across teams working on the same mobile service.

Visium FarmA common build. Coordinated device access.

The context

A telecom product organization has several teams contributing to its customer app. Login, account management, and service journeys need to be tested on a range of physical devices before a release.

The challenge

Separate device collections make it hard to know what is available. Engineers can lose time arranging handoffs, and different app versions can make issue reports difficult to compare. Test leads also need a clearer view of how the shared capacity is used.

The Visium Farm approach

  1. Create a dedicated testing environment

Use a customer-specific private cloud with a central device inventory. Teams can see device availability and choose the physical devices their coverage requires.

  2. Coordinate the release window

Select the release build from the library and distribute it to the target devices. Group reservations support planned work, while access requests help teams coordinate around a busy device.

  3. Review how the pool is used

Connect manual and automated testing to the same pool. Review device usage, reservation activity, and operational reports to inform capacity planning and the next release window.

What this enables

The shared workflow supports consistent application preparation and clearer coordination between teams. Test leads can use actual usage reports to understand demand, while engineers can return to collected session files when a device-specific issue needs investigation.
